SYMPTOM(s):
Remote clients unable to make new connections to database after a period of time
SRV 4: Connection timed out on socket=32 for usernum -1, attempt disconnect. (1280)
BROKER 0: Connection timed out on socket=31 for usernum -1, attempt disconnect. (1280)
BROKER 0: Accept() system call failed; errno = 233. (4961)
After series of (4961) error message users are able to start logging in
This cycle will repeat periodically, but randomly
Netstat shows multiple connections remaining as established to the broker port
FACT(s) (Environment):
Clients currently connected to the database continue to work
Shared memory connections can still be made.
CAUSE:
An Ethernet port on a Nortel router was corrupting or dropping packets
FIX:
Replace the faulty router.
