How to simplify the Patch installation of 8.2X on Windows.

INTRODUCTION:
=============
This KBase suggest a way to simplify the Patch installation on a site
with many clients. The objective is to give each client a full local
Progress installation, with the patch applied.
WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
It might be a very big administrative task to do first a Progress
installation then Unzip the patch and install it on each client, to
do this System Management Server can be used but if it is not
installed here is another approach.
PROCEDURAL APPROACH:
====================
CASE 1 (NT file server)
First install on the NT server the Client license of Progress in
directory D:\PROPATCH, then unzip the Patch into the directory
following the instructions that came with the patch.
Copy the D:\PROPATCH to the client PC in the directory C:\DLC then
NETSETUP.EXE from C:\DLC\NETSETUP. This install in a few moments the
patched Progress License.
CASE 2 (NOVELL file server)
First ensure that the Novell machine accepts long file names. On a
client do the installation as described in the installation notes,
apply the patch and put the installation directory on a novell file
server. Then follow the same steps as above and copy the License to
each client pc and run the NETSETUP.EXE.
This is a suggested way to speed up the installation of a patched
Progress license if any problems are encountered then revert to the
standard way of installing.
