FACT(s) (Environment):

OpenEdge 10.1A

SYMPTOM(s):

OpenEdge 10.1A01

Client connecting to multiple databases

At least one database enabled for auditing

Multiple events of login and set database being created in the database audit trail

CAUSE:

This is a known issue being investigated by Development

CAUSE:

This issue occurs when using OpenEdge 10.1A and OpenEdge 10.1A01 with audit enable databases.
When an OpenEdge client connects to multiple databases, the auditing core service will duplicate login and set database id events in each auditing enabled database according to the number of databases connected.
This is an example that illustrates the improper behavior:

Application must connect to two databases DB1 and DB2
DB1 database is enabled for auditing
OpenEdge client connects to DB1 and DB2
Two ?success login? 10510 and ?set database id? 10500 events will be recorded in the audit data.
The expected result is that a login and set database id event should be recorded in the database audit trail only once per event occurrence.

FIX:

A T-Fix has been created for 10.1A02 which addresses this problem. Later versions will incorporate the fix into the shipped product.
Contact Progress Software Technical Support to request the T-Fix.
