Initial values of TODAY for date fields with SmartObjects
When adding a record with a SmartViewer or SmartBrowser initial
values of TODAY for date fields will only display if the instance
attributes for the SmartViewer or SmartBrowser are set up to
create a record on add.
If a record isn't being created on add, then the initial values are
retrieved from the _template record and this does not give the value
of TODAY. In order to get this functionality a local-add-record
event procedure will need to be created to set the screen-value of
the date field to TODAY.
Initial values for dates that are not TODAY will display for
added records in a SmartViewer and SmartBrowser whether the instance
attribute is set to create a record on add or on save.
