GOAL:

What does promon "Database State: Not modified since last open (2)" really mean?

FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x

FIX:

In the promon Database Status screen (option 7), the Database State can be seen as "Not modified since last open (2)".

What this actually means is that there has been no Before Imaging activity on the database since it was last started.
Anything that causes BI notes to be written will cause the state to move to "Open (1)" instead, this includes simply reading any record with an EXCLUSIVE lock.
