SYMPTOM(s):

Installing Progress to a network drive

Installation fails at +/- 43%

GetLastError: The system could not find the file specified "<X:\InstallDir>\webinstall\webclient\web_image\autorun.inf"

Installation process quits once the error is cleared

Installation succeeds when using a local disk, such as C:\

FileMon monitoring SETUP.EXE shows the following information:

163273 <Time> SETUP.EXE:<PID> CREATE <X:\InstallDir>\webinstall\webclient\web_image\autorun.inf ACCESS DENIED <Domain>\<Username>
...
163275 <Time> SETUP.EXE:<PID> OPEN <X:\InstallDir>\webinstall\webclient\web_image\autorun.inf NOT FOUND Options: Open Access: All

User has full access to the installation folder

CAUSE:

AntiVirus software has a rule configured that prevents *.INF files from being created on network drives, hence the ACCESS DENIED message when SETUP.EXE attempts to CREATE the file

FIX:

Change/remove the rule in the AntiVirus software
