Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows XP
OpenEdge 10.1x
SYMPTOM(s):
UseNative3D=no set in INI file/registry
Buttons appear as black rectangles
CAUSE:
This is due to a Microsoft issue.
To support themes properly, Windows XP requires that UseClipChildren=yes.
This option hands full control to the Windows XP, meaning that the UseNative3D no longer has effect.
In OpenEdge 10.1A and later, specifying UseNative3D=no will force UseClipChildren=no, which will then expose the Microsoft issues such as the black rectangles instead of buttons.
FIX:
Do not use UseNative3D=no when deploying on Windows XP using the XP themes.
