Can't connect to a local 8.2 DB with Report Builder 8.2
You cannot connect to a local 8.2 DB with the 8.2b75 RB
patch or 8.2C Report Builder.
The reasons behind this statement are:
1. On WIN95, you cannot start a multi-user DB with Network support.
You can do this on NT, if you have a workgroup or enterprise DB.
2. You can't start a single user DB, because of a change in blocksize
between versions.
8.2 is 32 bit with a 1K single-user blocksize. 8.1 is 16 bit with a
512 byte (.5K) blocksize.
You can, however, connect locally to an 8.1 DB, this is because of the
mutual 16 bit nature.
Note: The ability to connect to a local 8.2 DB, should be
reinstated when the 32 bit Report Builder comes out.
