GOAL:
Can ai files created on a Solaris 8 machine be applied to a database on a Solaris 9 machine?
GOAL:
Can ai files on one version of the Operating System be applied to a database backup on a different version of the Operating System?
GOAL:
Are ai files associated with the Operating System they were created on?
FIX:
AI files are not specific to the Operating System they were created on. Rather they are specific to the Progress port/platform and the version of Progress that was used to generate the ai file.
Example:
AI files created on a Solaris 8 machine can be applied to a database on a Solaris 9 machine, providing that the Progress version used is consistent on both machines.
