FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows 2003
SYMPTOM(s):
AdminServer does not start after installing service pack 1 for Windows 2003.
CAUSE:
The AdminServer is not working inside the exception security framework that
have been implemented with the release of service pack 1 for Windows 2003.
FIX:
Disable PAE and DEP by editing C:\BOOT.INI and replace
"/NoExecute=OptIn" with "/NoExecute=AlwaysOff".
OR
Enable Java as a DEP exception. This is done under Settings -> Control Panel ->
System -> Advanced tab, click Settings button (under Performance), choose the
Data Execution Prevention tab and add %DLC%\jre\bin\java.exe as an exception.
