SYMPTOM(s):
Increasing the -TB value to 4 or more does not improve network performance when Progress reads large r-code files across a network
In the Startup Parameter Description manual for -TB (SortSpeed) parameter says:
NOTE: Increasing the -TB value to 4 or more can improve network performance when Progress reads large r-code files across a network.
CAUSE:
Bug# 20060425-005
FIX:
This is a documentation bug. The note for the ?TB reference is incorrect. Progress does not read r-code and store it directly in the SRT file. The SRT file is used for swapping r-code segments in and out of the in memory r-code execution buffer at runtime.
