GOAL:
What is the -REPLTransition parameter?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1x
All Supported Operating Systems
Fathom Replication
OpenEdge Replication
FIX:
The -REPLTransition parameter to prorest was introduced for Fathom Replication in 10.1A.
It is used to allow a backup taken of a replication enabled /*source*/ database to be enabled as a /*target*/ upon restore, not to allow a backup of a target to be a source on restore.
syntax:
$ prorest db-name device-name -REPLTransition
The restored database will then remain enabled as a target, which is indeed the intention.
No warning that the -REPLTransition parameter to prorest is ignored if the backup was taken on a database enabled as a target initially.
