SYMPTOM(s):
Progress install hanging on Linux
After configuring files the installation seems to stop. The screen goes blank and there is just a flashing cursor.
The install has appeared to hang for over 2 hours, but there does seem to be CPU activity.
FACT(s) (Environment):
RedHat Linux Advanced Server 2.1
CAUSE:
The exact cause is unknown at the time of this writing
FIX:
The problem was resolved by installing Progress on a laptop with VMware Linux installed. After this the installation could be copied over to the server machine.
So installing to another machine and copying the installation is a work around.
