GOAL:
DB: Can a table with an inactive primary index be dropped online?
GOAL:
Is it possible to DROP a TABLE with an inactive primary index while the database is running in Multi-User mode?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
OpenEdge Category: Database
FIX:
Since it is not possible to activate an index while the database is running in Multi-User mode, and since it is not possible to DROP a TABLE without an active primary index, it follows that a table with an inactive primary index can not be dropped online.
To drop such a table, its primary index needs to first be activated off line, single user mode.
