Unsatisfied code symbol 'pthread_self' in load module
Error when trying to start database
Error indicates that there is an OS patch missing
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Unresolved symbol: pthread_self (code) from /progress/10/bin/_mprosrv
FACT(s) (Environment):
HP-UX 11i
OpenEdge 10.1A
OpenEdge 10.1B
CAUSE:
The OS is missing certain Service Packs that are needed to run OpenEdge successfully.
FIX:
Install OS patch and PHCO_32761
The following bundles or newer bundles which supercede these are also needed for proper Progress functionality:

To check if these are loaded on the system run the following command:
/usr/sbin/swlist | grep GOLD
/usr/sbin/swlist | grep PHSS
/usr/sbin/swlist | grep PHCO
If the patches are not listed, please download those HP Patches or more recent superceding patches.
Check with your HP Support Representative to verify what patches or bundles may replace those listed above.
