SYMPTOM(s):
Using Service name doesn't connect to the database using SQL Explore
Using a port number works fine
Error: <command name | SQL Exception message>. (8933)
Error: [DataDirect][OpenEdge JDBC Driver]Cannot find port number for service name ServiceName.. (8933)
Command line SQL Explorer being used
Command looks like:
sqlexp -db databasename -S ServiceName -user username -pass password
Service name in the command has different case then that in the Services file
CAUSE:
Bug# 20050922-068
FIX:
Upgrade to 10.1A01 or later.
If upgrading is not an option, either use a port number instead of the service name or make sure the service name's case matches
