GOAL:

Does the Procedure Editor change the UNIX PATH environment variable?

GOAL:

When shelling out from the Procedure Editor, where is the PATH Environment variable coming from?

GOAL:

Does the tty procedure editor change the PATH environment variable?

FACT(s) (Environment):

UNIX

FIX:

The PATH environment variable is inherited from the Operating System environment. The PATH environment variable is not reset when you invoke the tty procedure editor other than if you are in 10.0X of Progress, we will pre-pend your PATH environment variable with your $JREHOME parameter. To start the procedure editor from the command line you would issue either the pro or mpro commands located in $DLC/bin. A review of these scripts will show if the version of Progress you are running pre-pends anything to the PATH environment variable.
