GOAL:

Does Progress have a problem with the Java Time and Date problem caused by the 2006 Commonwealth Games?

GOAL:

Does the Java Date and Time used by Progress affect the 4GL date and time functions?

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x

FIX:

Due to the Australia state of Victoria moving back its daylight savings end date back for the Commonwealth Games, the Java versions used by Progress (except for the ones in 10.1A) do not allow for this. Therefor the time reported from Java will be incorrect. This will not affect the time reported from the Progress 4GL time and date functions as they do not use Java in the determination of these figures. It will affect log files for the AdminServer, AppServer and WebSpeed. Also it could affect customers using a Java Open Client application if they use the progress version of Java or an independent version of Java that has the same issue.
