Status: Verified
SYMPTOM(s):
Replication server stops when user starting session logs out
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
dsrutil restart used to restart replication server
Replication initially started as service
dsrutil restart run in remote desktop session
OpenEdge Replication
CAUSE:
The remote desktop session was from which dsrutil was run was logged out. This means that any process started from that desktop will be shut down, unless it was started as a service. This is expected behaviour in that this is the Windows default behaviour.
FIX:
Start the Replication Server as a Service:
Method 1
Stop and restart the source replication enabled database with the AdminServer.
Method 2.
Start the rpserver.exe process under the "SYSTEM" account, refer to Solution P130259, "How to restart the Fathom replication server under the Local System Account" for an example script.
