Status: Verified
SYMPTOM(s):
Receive Installation error 102 when installing / reapplying a service pack to an existing installation of Progress
Installed Fathom Replication as a new component to an existing Progress installation.
Progress installation was already running with a Service Pack
INSTALLATION ERROR (102): Unable to create the file: /usr/dlc/bin/rptlr.dll (ETXTBSY)
There are no Progress processes running at the time that the installation is being performed.
FACT(s) (Environment):
IBM AIX
CAUSE:
Bug# OE00110693
CAUSE:
AIX caches libraries in memory even if there are no active processes using those libraries. The slibclean command on AIX can be used to remove any unused libraries from memory.
FIX:
Run the slibclean command on AIX. This command is located in /usr/sbin. The command will remove any unused modules in kernel and library memory.
From AIX command prompt type the following:
$ slibclean
Reinstallation of the Progress Service Pack will proceed without errors.
In 10.0B03 or later and 10.1A our installation automatically calls slibclean prior to installing the product or Service Pack.
