SYMPTOM(s):
Admin logs off locally and all the databases stop
No errors in database log.
No errors in the event viewer logs
The admsrvc.exe process is not found in processes under Task Manager
AdminServer was started from the command line by the admin.
All databases set to auto-start on the start of the AdminServer
proadsv -start
Starting the AdminServer via script.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
CAUSE:
When the account that starts a process logs off the process is stopped
FIX:
If starting via a script, you can still start the AdminServer as a service using the net start command. Running net start from the command line will list all the services.
Select the desired service and run net start "service name", for example: net start "AdminService for OpenEdge 10.0B" and to stop the service, net stop "AdminService for OpenEdge 10.0B"
