Error 704 seen on client when trying to connect remotely
Error 704 when connecting locally with -H <server-name>
Error 704 when connecting locally with -H <IP-address>
** There is no server active for database <database> on -H <hostname> -S <servicename>. (704)
FACT(s) (Environment):
A connection is possible with -H localhost
OpenEdge 10.x
All Supported Operating Systems
CAUSE:
The OpenEdge Studio license does not allow connections using a -H other than -H localhost as development products contain the Personal Database product.
FIX:
A database license such as Workgroup or Enterprise will be required to connect remotely.
