SYMPTOM(s):
Error 4398 using proserve.
Error 4398 starting a database server.
The license for the server has expired. (4398)
The database license has not expired.
Running showcfg shows a 4GL license installed together with the database license.
The 4GL license has expired.
CAUSE:
This is a known issue.
Expiration of the 4GL license should not hinder database-side operations, such as starting up a database server.
FIX:
The only workaround for the time being is to uninstall Progress and re-install it without the expired 4GL license.
