Script to remove the previous nights backup ran while the online backup was in progress
Active backup was was removed
No backup file visible in directory listing after removal
Backup continued to completion

21:43:39 BACKUP 72: Full backup successfully completed. (1364)

CAUSE:
This is expected behavior of the UNIX operating system. The rm command will remove the files from the directory, but while a process is attached they are not total removed until that process detaches.
FIX:
Modify the script/method of doing the removal.
