Status: Verified
SYMPTOM(s):
Four out of many AppServer brokers do not start
They are the first four AppServers alphabetically that are set to autostart
AppServers and databases set to autostart
These four AppServers attempt to start before the databases start
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.x
Progress 9.x
All Supported Operating Systems
CAUSE:
The AdminServer tries to start the AppServer brokers before the databases have started.
FIX:
This is a timing issue. The following has been used to work around this issue:
1. Do not autostart both the databases and the AppServers, or
2. Create a few dummy AppServers, with names that place them first alphabetically, and then set them to autostart
