Kbase P109781: OpenEdge Architect project properties are not saved under the project's directory

Status: Unverified

FACT(s) (Environment):

OpenEdge 10.1A

SYMPTOM(s):

OpenEdge Architect project properties are not saved under the project's directory

OpenEdge Architect properties are saved in a file called ${workspace_loc}/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources/.projects/ProjectName/.indexes/properties.index

Using CVS-like repository, doing a checkout of a project does not retrieve files in .metadata directory

CAUSE:

Enhancement request# 20051011-002

FIX:

The project's properties may be locally stored, that is inside the project itself, by using the 'Share Settings' option of the project's properties. Using this option generates an 'project.xml' file within the project. When a project is created with this 'project.xml' file in the project, all its properties are loaded from this .xml file. Perform the following steps to use the project's 'Share Settings' option:
1. Right Click on the project name to access the context menu.
2. Select Properties to access from the context menu to access the project's Properties dialog.
3. Expand the OpenEdge node and select the Custom option.
4. Click the Share Settings button on the Custom dialog.
5. Click OK.
6. Observe that the 'project.xml' file was created.
