FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress 9.x

FIX:

A client for the AppServer can be any of the following:

4GL Client

Java Client

ActiveX Client

WebSpeed Agent

AppServer

Below is the compatibility chart for Client/Server compatibility for an AppServer. Any combination that is not on the chart is not supported. Please note that the NameServer follows the same compatibility rules as the Server listed below.
Note: Any client version on the left can connect to any server version on the right.

Client Version

Server Version

3.1C
3.1D
3.1E
9.1C
9.1D
9.1E
10.0A
10.0B

9.1C
9.1D
9.1E
10.0A
10.0B
If you generate a PROXY in 9.1E that includes a memptr or a dynamic temp-table parameter, you will not be able to use the proxy against a 91A AppServer.

Administration of a server is associated with the server itself and therefore they must be the same version. Hence, the Administration tools associated with the Open AppServer (including the Progress Explorer, and Admin Server used to administer the OpenAppServer) must be the same version as the Server Version listed in the chart above.
