GOAL:
What ports need to be opened between 4GL Clients and the NameServer & AppServer
FIX:
As 4GL clients connect to the Name Server, the UDP port of the Name Server needs to be opened inbound and, for the Name Server to answer back with the information of the AppServer Broker's TCP Port number, all UDP ports need to be opened outbound.
With AIA or Webspeed Messenger, the parameters "minNSClientPort" and "maxNSClientPort" limit the number of outbound UDP ports.
Unless the AppServer broker is in Stateless mode,communication between the 4GL clients and the AppServer agents require that all TCP ports between -srvMinPort and -srvMaxPort are opened for both inbound and outbound modes.
