SYMPTOM(s):
Silent installation of NetSetup fails on clean install of Windows XP SP2.
Installation with recorded response file fails.
Dialog with message "The file extension .CFG is already registered by another application as file type CFGFile. Do you want to overwrite the registry entry and register this file extension as a Progress file" appears when recording the response file.
Dialog with message "The file extension .db is already registered by another application as file type dbFile. Do you want to overwrite the registry entry and register this file extension as a Progress file" appears when recording the response file.
FACT(s) (Environment):
The dialogs for the file extensions are not recorded in the response file, since they come from the OS and not from the install process.

CAUSE:
Bug# OE00180338
CAUSE:
The silent installation does not skip the part of the tailoring process where file types are registered.
It should skip this part, as most applications using the silent install are already configured in a way that does not depend on file extensions.
FIX:
Upgrade to OpenEdge 10.1C04 or later release
Upgrade to OpenEdge 10.2A02 or later release
Workaround:
Run the commands:
assoc.db=
assoc.cfg=
at a DOS Command prompt, or from a batch file which then starts the installation.
This command removes the file associations. It can be used for any other file associations that might be causing problems.
