The NT character client can't run host-based with shared mem

The NT character Console client is designed primarily to help users
that have a character application that they need to run in the DOS
environment (i.e. the NT DOS-box). With this client they can run
character applications. If the database is not local to the NT
machine, they must connect via client/server. If they have multiple
NT DOS-boxes running on the machine they can run multiple console
clients.

However, the console client is not designed to allow users to run
host-mode character applications on an NT system. (I.E. The client
was not intended to solve that problem.) It has not been specifically
ruled out, but we have done no testing nor have we attempted to
support it. The console client will not allow the users to run
multiple consoles on an NT host machine with shared memory.

If a customer finds and makes use of technology that allows multiple
users on different machines to connect to an NT system with DOS
emulation, they deploy at their own risk.

The NT character console client does not support VT-100 emulation,
so using Telnet, or VT-100 emulators to connect to the client is
also not supported.

The NT console client does not support the host-based interface.
