Can v7 DBE application be run on LOCAL Unix clients?

INTRODUCTION:

This Progress Technical Support Knowledgebase entry is intended to
clarify whether Progress DBE applications fully support client/server
configurations.
WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
To answer the question, "Will local shared memory clients work
correctly with DBE?"
Answer: To run with a local DBE client in 7.3E, it would have to be
either a DBE batch client or a Japanese Solaris Motif client.
There are no other DBE clients on Unix.
