CAUSE:
A Report Builder report was created and saved with a connection to a Progress database. At a later point, the report needs to be saved with an AS/400 database. Both databases have the same schema. This applies to V8 Report Builder.
FIX:
If the Progress and AS/400 databases have the same name, start here:
1) Before opening the report, go to menu Options->Preferences, change Database Connections on Report Open to Prompt Always.
2) When Database Connection dialog comes up, give a logical name other than the physical name to the Progress Database.
If the databases do not have the same name start here:
3) Open the report connected to the original Progress database connection.
4) Go to menu Report->Database Connections, New Connections button. Connect to the AS/400 schema holder. You will automatically be connected to the AS/400 database/library.
5) Go to menu Database->Master Table, select the table from the AS/400 database.
6) Go to menu Database->Joins. You will have to delete the existing joins and recreate them on the AS/400 database.
7) Go back to Report->Database Connections and disconnect from original Progress database.
8) Save/Save As report.
