Apptivity and Firewalls
If you are using Firewalls, you will need to open up access to the
tcp port numbers required by your datasource. How you do this will
vary based on the type of firewall that is implemented.
eg.
IP Address: 123.123.123.123
SERVER DB 2500/tcp | Firewall |
BROWSER CLIENT
WEBSERVER 2000/tcp | |
If you are running as an applet, the Port allocated to the Webserver
should already have been made accessible to the outside world assuming
that the company is willing to let external users have access behind
the firewall. This would have been done using some sort of
configuration tool specific to the firewall being used:
123.123.123.123:2000 <-> *:*. For the datasource they would then
have to do the same thing.
