SYMPTOM(s):
Getting error during uninstall of shared network installation
Getting error during uninstall of NetSetup clients
Uninstall: DLL(util.dll) not loaded
The above error comes up as a pop up box
Using Add/Remove programs to remove a shared network installation from client machine
The installation on the server has already been removed
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.0x
CAUSE:
util.dll and uninstall.dll are dll's used by uninstall program, they are in %dlc%\netsetup directory on the server. Because the server has already uninstalled all the files, these dll's can not be loaded by client uninstall
FIX:
1. Reinstall the Client Networking product on the server to the same path originally used for install
2. Use Add/remove program to remove client net setup files
3. Uninstall from the server
