SYMPTOM(s):
Connecting from Delphi application to AppServer using ActiveX Open Client using HTTP fails with errors 9998 & 9986
An AIA error was returned thru http: Unexpected error: com.progress.ubroker.util.ubMsg$InvalidMsgVersionException: MsgFormat (9998)(9986)
CHANGE:
Customer attempted to connect via HTTPS and while getting that working they upgraded from 9.1D08 to 9.1D09
CAUSE:
The exact cause is unknown at the time of this writing
FIX:
Customer was already having problems with the Windows 98 installation so they decided to upgrade it to Windows XP. Once this was done both HTTP and HTTPS connections starting working.
