Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1x
OpenEdge 10.0x
SYMPTOM(s):
Multiple Progress releases on the same machine
Starting IDXBUILD from a script
The following messages appear:
putmod. (9418)
dll (9459)
IDXBUILD aborts
Same script runs fine on other machines
CAUSE:
The messages shown are truncated messages from the Promsgs file.
This indicates that either the promsgs file has been corrupted, or that one from the wrong Progress release is being used.
FIX:
1. Check if there is a PROMSGS environment variable set at the OS level.
If this is the case, modify the script to override it and set it to the correct file for the Progress release being used.
2. If the issue persists, replace the Promsgs file with a known working copy.
