FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.x
SYMPTOM(s):
OpenEdge Development Server product cannot run AppBuilder and returns an error.
A license for the AppBuilder is not available.
CAUSE:
This is expected behavior. The OpenEdge Development Server product is not intended to allow running of the AppBuilder.
Although within the Installation and Configuration Guide for Windows it shows that the AppBuilder subcomponent is included within this product, it is included because the AppBuilder core component contains some required files.
FIX:
The OpenEdge Development Server product does not install the AppBuilder product. You will need to install a product that contains the AppBuilder, please see solution Which products / licenses include the Progress AppBuilder?
