ADE tools do not allow passwords with special characters
The "Connect Database" window in the AppBuilder, Data Dictionary or Data Administration does not accept special characters for the password
Unable to connect to a database using a password which contains extended characters through the ADE tools
Connecting to the database after opening the ADE tool
** Your Password and Userid do not match. (710)
CAUSE:
This is a known issue being investigated by Development
FIX:
Specify the database as a startup parameter for the ADE tool, e.g. to open the AppBuilder:
prowin32 -db sports2000 -p _ab
This causes the "Login" window to be opened instead of the "Connect Database" window. The "Login" window does accept passwords with special characters.
