The tool can take a long time to run when there is no previous versions to build from or your new version has a lot of changes. Adding to the process is the need to generate XML ADO's for the release. These ADO's have data from multiple tables and need to be controllable by source control systems. Both of these things mean that the time to run of the tool can be long.
