SYMPTOM(s):
Progress Explorer will not start after changing permissions in the everyone group
New permissions are read/write
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
CHANGE:
Changed permissions on the everyone group from full control to read/write at the root of the C drive and propagated the change to all files and subdirectories.
CAUSE:
The change in permissions does not include the permission to execute a file.
FIX:
Add, in the everyone group , the permission to execute a file at the progress install directory level and propagate the change to all files and subdirectories
