Restoring Progress/400 from Installation Save File

In order to restore the libraries that PROGRESS automatically saves
during the installation of a new version as described in the
installation manual, the following steps should be done.

Step #1

From any command line type RSTOBJ press the F4 key. You will see the
following screen.

Fill it in as shown.

Restore Object (RSTOBJ)

Type choices, press Enter
Objects . . . . . . . . . . . . > *ALL Name, generic*, *ALL.
+ for more value
saved library . . . . . . . . . > QTEMP Name.
Device . . . . . . . . . . . . . > *SAVF Name, *SAVF
+ for more values
Object types . . . . . . . . . . *ALL *ALL, *ALRTBL,BNDDIR
+ for more values
Save file . . . . . . . . . . . #PROGRESS# Name.
Library . . . . . . . . . . . QGPL Name, *LIBL, *CURLIB.


Option . . . . . . . . . . . . . *ALL *ALL, *NEW, *OLD,*FREE.

This will restore 4 save files to the library qtemp, each of these
will contain a library.

To find the names of these files type the following command on the command line.

DSPLIB QTEMP press enter.

You should see a display similar to the following:

Library . . . . . . : QTEMP Number of objects . : 5
Type . . . . . . . . : TEST ASP of library . . . :1
Create authority. . : *SYSVAL

Type options, press Enter.
5=Display full attributes 8=Display service attributes

You do not need to worry about the last entry with the type *usrspc.

STEP #2

You then need to do RSTLIB command for each library that you wish to
restore. On the command line type the RSTLIB command and press F4,
you should a screen similar to the one below.

Restore Library (RSTLIB)
Type choices, press Enter.

Saved library . . . . . . . . . >PROSPORT Name,*NONSYS,*ALLUSR,*IBM
Device . . . . . . . . . . . . . >*SAVF Name, *SAVF .
+ for more values
Save file . . . . . . . . . . . >PROSPORT Name
Library . . . . . . . . . . . >QTEMP Name, *LIBL,*CURLIB

Additional Parameters
Option . . . . . . . . . . . . . >*NEW *ALL,*NEW,*OLD,FREE
Data base member option . . . . >*NEW *MATCH, *ALL, *NEW,*OLD
Date when saved . . . . . . . . Date
Time when saved . . . . . . . . Time
Allow object differences . . . . *NONE *NONE, *ALL
Restore to library . . . . . . . > PROSPORT Name, *SAVLIB

Fill in the appropriate fields and press enter. After you have restored.
all the libraries, your previous version of PROGRESS should be back
in place and ready to use.
