GOAL:

Is it possible to connect to two or more Databases within the same DSN using the MERANT ODBC driver?

GOAL:

Is it possible to connect to two or more Databases within the same DSN using the DataDirect ODBC driver?

GOAL:

Is it possible to connect to two or more Databases using Progress SQL-89 ODBC drivers?

GOAL:

Is it possible to connect to two or more Databases using Progress SQL-92 ODBC drivers?

FACT(s) (Environment):

MERANT 3.60 32-BIT Progress SQL-89
MERANT 3.70 32-BIT Progress SQL-89
MERANT 4.0 32-BIT Progress SQL-89
MERANT 3.60 32-BIT Progress SQL-92
DataDirect 4.1 32-Bit Progress SQL92 9.1D
DataDirect 4.10 32-Bit Progress SQL92 9.1E
DataDirect 4.20 32-Bit OpenEdge SQL92 10.0A
DataDirect 4.20 32-Bit OpenEdge SQL92 10.0B
Windows

FIX:

It is possible to connect to several database using the MERANT 3.60, 3.70 and 4.0 SQL-89 ODBC drivers.

It is not possible to do this using the MERANT 3.60 SQL92 ODBC driver or the DataDirect SQL-92 ODBC drivers (4.1,4.10,4.20). The MERANT and DataDirect ODBC drivers must have a separate DSN per database to account for the different port numbers used to start the Progress databases.
