Attempt to make on-line schema change failed. (10568)
The .df file contains instructions to update the format of an existing field
Database is connected in single-user mode
Using "Add new objects on-line" option turned on
Trying to do ann on-line schema change
CAUSE:
Add objects online cannot be used to delete or modify existing database table (including deleting, adding, or changing a field, adding an active index, or adding schema trigger information).
By selecting the "Add new objects on-line" option in Data Administration the SESSION:SCHEMA-CHANGE is turned on, indicating a desire to make schema changes without an exclusive lock on the schema.
Therefore, the error 10568 will appear because the on-line schema change capability is not available under these situations.
FIX:
Do not use "Add new objects on-line" option turned on when loading a .df file into a database that is being accessed in single-user mode.
