SYMPTOM(s):
After installing Patch 8.3E04 on the Windows platform from the Progress 8.3E04 Patch CD, the version file says it is 8.3E03
The listing of the files in the bin directory on the CD are for January 19, 2004.
CAUSE:
The 8.3E04 patch CD contains the wrong version file.
FIX:
Edit the version file on disk to reflect the correct version and date for Patch 8.3E04, to avoid confusion in the future when checking which version of the Progress patch is installed.
Version file should read:
PROGRESS PATCH Version 8.3E04 as of January 19, 2004
