FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
SYMPTOM(s):
When promon is run the cursor returns to a new blank line.
Promon menu does not come up.
PATH has the windows system directory first.
Found a promon.exe in the Windows directory.
Executing C:\windows\promon.exe ran a diagnostic tool for an ethernet adapter.
CAUSE:
Windows is looking for promon .bat or .exe file to execute and will run the first one it finds. Windows found the wrong executable first and ran it.
FIX:
Either place %DLC%\bin at beginning of the Windows PATH or rename the promon.exe file in the Windows directory.
