ODBC DataServer Demo for 8.2 & 8.3 Windows: Known Problems
The DataServer Tutorial for the ODBC DataServer product contains
instructions that are not accurate for connecting to MS Access using
version 8.2 A/B. The instructions are located on page 5-2 and the
known problems are the following:
1. The DEMO.mdb that we ship with the 82B product is corrupt.
2. The schema holder db (HOLDER.db) is 512 block size and cannot be
used with the 8.2 or 8.3 A/B client.
This will give SYSTEM ERROR: Invalid blocksize 512 in database holder.db. (4521)
3. The sample connection procedure, CDEMO.p, will not work due to the
above listed problems.
4. We do not have an ODBC Administator in a Progress program group.
The ODBC driver must be configured using the ODBC32 configuration
utility from the Control Panel.
5. The Physical Database Name must be the Data Source Name as
configured for the ODBC driver.
