FACT(s) (Environment):

SYMPTOM(s):
Cannot start a database by right-clicking on a .db file
Cannot stop a database by right-clicking on a .db file
CHANGE:
File association for .db file types has been changed to a non-Progress program
CAUSE:
The association of .db files with Progress has been changed by choosing another program to open the .db file with in Windows.
FIX:
1. In Microsoft Windows Explorer go to >> Tools>>Folder Options >>File Types tab
2.Under "registered file types" find the .DB extension, highlight it and choose "Delete"
3. Choose "New". For file extension type "DB" and select "Advanced". Under "Associated File Type" choose Progress .DB file. Choose "OK".
4. Select this new DB extension you created and choose "change", select "prowin32" from the list.
5. Select the "restore" button.
