Report Engine 8.2 - Release notes - Known issues
Report Engine 8.2 Release Notes - Known Issues
1) If the RB-NO-WAIT parameter is set to "no" and RB-PRINTER-NAME
or RB-PRINTER-PORT is "?" or ?, Report Engine will display the
'Printer Setup' Dialog. If the user then chooses the 'Setup...'
button, this brings up the Windows Printer Properties and both
PROGRESS and Report Engine hang. If the user chooses OK or
Cancel on the dialog, this will dismiss it but Report Engine
can't continue.
This works fine if RB-NO-WAIT = yes.
2) If a report does not specify a sort order, the 8.2 database
may return records in a different order than the database
did-the report will contain the same records, but they won't
necessarily be in the same order.
3) If the RB-NO-WAIT parameter is "no" (i.e., yes, wait) and
RB-DISPLAY-ERRORS = yes, and there is a problem connecting
to the database as saved in the report definition or as
specified in
RB-DB-CONNECTION, prore.exe will GPF and the client will hang.
Solution: set RB-NO-WAIT to yes (no, don't wait) or set
RB-DISPLAY-ERRORS to no.
4) The default -cpstream and -cpterm changed from ibm850 in 8.1
to iso8859-1 in 8.2. This affects the Code page used when
exporting reports.
Solution: specify -cpstream and -cpterm in rbstart.pf.
5) The default -yy in the 8.2 PROGRESS client is 1950.
The Report Engine's default -yy is still 1900 (as it was in 8.1).
