Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1E
SYMPTOM(s):
Unexpected warning messages loading a df-file
Creating a character field by loading a df-file
** ADD FIELD <field-name> caused a warning **
Can't change Decimals of field "<field-name>". Field type is not DECIMAL.
The df-file was successfully loaded.
The warning message does not appear in Progress 9.1D
The field getting exceptions is a type DATE
Applying Service Pack 1 or later does not resolve the problem
CAUSE:
The .df file has been created in Progress version 7 utility, which puts DECIMAL 0 into it.
FIX:
Ignore the warning or manually remove DECIMAL 0 from the .df file.
If possible, create the .df file in version 9.1E01 (or later), but that would require an update of the database (from version 7 in this case).
