How to set up FTP 2.1 in Windows with PROGRESS 6.2M00
Check for the following to set up FTP 2.1 in Windows with PROGRESS
Release 6.2M00.
* You have the windows directory Winsock.dll dated 1/16/93. If you
do not, PROGRESS generates the following error message.
TCP must be loaded and working before running multi-user PROGRESS.
(1078)
NOTE: For PROGRESS Release 6.2M05, you should have the winsock.dll
that comes with FTP 2.2 Version 1.1.
* You have the following line, dated 2/11, in the 386 [ENH] section
of your SYSTEM.INI file.
DEVICE=VPCTCP.386
* If you are running from a local drive, there is a c:\etc directory
that contains the files, protocol, services, networks, and hosts.
If you are running on a network, there is a \etc subdirectory of the
root directory. For example, in your Windows properties, if your
working directory is direct:h:\users\tem, there is a h:etc
directory that contains files, protocol,networks,services and hosts.
